Kazakh and Karakalpak


History of Yurt:
The yurt is a traditional camp made by nomads who belongs to central Asia from ancient times to the modern day. Yurts had become the main Kazakh and Karakalpak to survive in the desert by the end of 19th century. Only the natives and tribes can lived high in the mountains had primitive clay buildings. The tribes who were not native did not begin to build clay buildings until the end of 20th century. Some Kazakhs have not forgotten their ancient transportable dwelling, but continue to live in them. Yurta  "uy" or "kora-uy" which used to be the only dwelling of the Kazakhs in the past, nowadays consume or utilized as a warm winter houses, but for the most part they are used only by the person have sheep to feed in the mountains.

Yurting in Ayaz-Kala:
Ayaz-Kala camps are built in the Elikkalinsky  when ever you enter in the district of the Republic of Karakalpakistan from the height you can see hundredths of brown camps. The campsite lies on a valley of picturesque steppe hill near the ruins of the ancient fortress of Ayaz-Kala. The nearest places from campsite Khiva which is 100 km from campsite, From Urgench it is 70 km, from Bukhara 450 km, from Nukus 150 km. Every tourist come from Khiva and Urgench is across the Beruniy have to cross pontoon bridge on the Amudarya River.

Nearest Places:
The nearest town from Ayaz-Kala campsite is about 25 kilometers. Another place to visit is the ancient ruins of great fortress Ayaz-kala. The lake of Ayazkul and the place where musicians come to perform exotic folklore concert from neighbor villages come to perform.

What to do during Yurt:
You can enjoy during your stay in yurt by different ways, if you have tools and kit you can enjoy rock climbing although the rocks are not so difficult and the height is not too much but it give you full adventure tour. The ancient ruins of Ayaz-kala’s fortress are also in nearest mountain all of tourists come for yurt must visit the fortress. The Ayazkul Lake is also at short distance if you love water, the water of lake is crystal clear you can swim and boating but beware you must know swimming before you start boating but if you can't you can also enjoy fishing the quantity of fishes in lake is too much no fish hunter turn back with empty handed so, you can enjoy with fishing. The specialism of this campsite is camel riding and camel racing ones in year local people manages the event on which camel racing is one of the famous parts it is your luck if you got this event.

How to access campsite:
If you are coming from out of country there are many airlines operating such as Uzbekistan Airways, Korean Air, Air Baltic, Asiana Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Transaero, Aeroflot, Czech airlines, Iran air, air Astana, S7 airlines. If you want to visit locally there are railway services and buss services to access the spots in Uzbekistan although it is landlocked country so you can access it through ocean way.
